Camomile tea and miscarriages?

Last night I made a cup of camomile tea and my friend literally slapped the cup out of my hand because she says it can cause miscarriages. I did some research on it but every time I found an article that said it can, I found one that said it cant. Does anyone know anything and it?

I'll tell you what my doctor told me after my miscarriage. It has nothing to do with anything you do or don't do. For the vast majority of miscarriages if it's going to happen it's due to some way the cells divide in the first 24 hours. The problem just doesn't present itself until much later.

I think it's only if it has hibiscus in it that it is bad for pregnant women

I think people can tell you a lot of things. I had 3 miscarriages in one year and at the time I was at the gym 6 days a week, eating really healthy, taking vitamins and just generally really well. I'd also given up my weekly glass of wine while TTC. SO my point is you can do all the 'right' things and still have bad luck.

They say a lot of things can cause miscarriages and honestly I don't believe every single one. I have one son and have had 2 miscarriages with all my pregnancies didn't drink coffee and none of the stuff they don't recommend still lost 2. There is people who do heavy drugs and don't have miscarriages. My point is don't worry to me the only thing that causes a miscarriage is a unhealthy baby, diabetes or a underlying problem other than that you are fine.

Pure camomile tea is fine

They only teas that are bad are

red raspberry(can cause early labor, recommended to be taken by some midwifes near due date)

Green tea/black tea- less the 250mcg of caffeine is ok so moderation of these teas are advised

Herbal teas of weed verity(dandelion, nettle..ect.)- they may not be unsafe but they are not tested enough to be considered safe.

Some flower teas are not reccomended either.

Also some Obs tell you to stay away from all herbal teas due to the fact that they are not FDA approved or regulated...I stick with twinnings, just because I've drank them for years
