Testing to early ?

Has anyone ever tested 6 days before there period and got a negative test but tested closer to there period like 3 days before and got a positive test? I just tested and I'm feeling sad but idk if I tested to soon ?

I took an early result test and still got a negative. But a week later had a bfp on dollar store brand! There's still hope
