Lol yeah. I used to be super annoying. I was crazy religious (would stop talking to friends if they missed one Sunday at church) and extremely pro-life. I used to tell people that abortions were an abomination because those poor baby souls would go straight to hell because god only liked people who had been baptized and saved. I said some pretty racist shit as a young kid also. I used to say that all animals were put here for a reason-to eat them. Now I'm an atheist, about as pro-choice as they come, def not racist, and a vegan 😳 along with being super liberal. It's amazing what can happen when one starts thinking for themself instead of blindly following their parents. I'm still pretty fucking annoying though 🤷🏼‍♀️

I used to believe everyone had the resources I had because I didn't understand my privilege. Now that I have seen where even the people with privilege can end up, I have a better comprehension of the idea as a whole.

I used to think vegans/veganism/plant based diets were ridiculous. Long story short I have now been vegan for over a year. 🍏🍌🍉🍒🥕

I have no clue where this thought came from, but when I was younger (even into my early twenties) I thought drinking alcohol (and consequently doing any other drug) was wrong in every way. I did not partake and didn't want to be with (romantically) anyone who did any of it.
I put a lot of thought into it because it drove a lot of wedges between me and my family/friends because they always felt judged and would hide things from me, despite I didn't care what they did. I touted "it's bad for you" or in some cases "it's illegal" all day long but when it came down to it logic played no part and I just had a negative opinion on it and it boiled down to "It's icky and I don't like it."
Since it wasn't based on anything logical, I fought long and hard to change my perspective, solely to improve my quality of life by reducing strain it caused on my interrelationships.
Now I can enjoy a drink on occasion and am with someone who will join me in that.

I was a stereotype southern baptist in high school. The no gay marriage, keep your baby no matter what, marriage before sex bitch. But I've done a complete flip since. I've learned that although my religion says something is wrong, doesn't mean I have to be intolerant of it. Do I agree with some things? No. But I'd never want anyone's rights taken away. I make the choices to not do certain things but just because those are my choices and opinions, doesn't mean everyone has to abide by them. I'm honestly ashamed I used to feel the way I did but I'm glad the CC ladies were patient in educating me because I'm a much happier person.
