Could you ever be friends with someone extremely religious or if you are extremely religious someone who is not?

Not like "I would never consider it" but like "I don't think it would work out. I ask because someone in my lab is mormon and I think she's really sweet and nice but she doesn't approve of my "lifestyle" (Gay, Wine drinking, Pro-choice, Sex positive, Sex before marriage,non-religious) and I don't think a friendship like that would ever work out for me.

Honestly from experience it totally depends on the person. I am a Christian and one of my best friends is not, but she and I have been friends for many years and she is completely respectful of me, as I am of her. 
Outside of family, she's my only friend who is not religious. It's just worked out that way. 
Most people want to be around people who are like them, who like the things they do and who share the views they have.

I can get along with anyone & honestly religion never comes to mind when meeting people. I am Christian along with the biggest majority of my family, but my sister is Muslim & is married to a Muslim. We respect their religion. When she comes over for dinner we cook things that are appropriate for them. On holidays we don't pressure them to celebrate unless they want to (most of the time they don't). Me & my sister are 2 different people all around & bump heads a lot, but it's got nothing to do with her religion.

I have a new friend that I met in our kids play group.  She is suuuuuper mormon, like super duper. Doesn't drink, no caffeine, doesn't show her knees and or her shoulders. I on the other hand work at a strip club, drink wine, love my short shorts, and have no religious affiliation at all.  She super sweet to me and doesn't judge me. I think it's cool that she has her very conservative beliefs but respects my beliefs and actions.

I'm a Mormon and both of my best friends are gay. It's never bothered me at all. I love them to death, I don't have to do what they do in order to maintain a friendship with them. We just have a mutual respect for each other's lifestyle. 😊

I am a devout Catholic, my husband doesn't believe in God and my best friend is gay. We were married in the Catholic church. I told him to tell the priest the truth and our priest was fine with it. We've already discussed how we are going to raise our children and never fight about it. Funny part is my husband doesn't like my best friend bc he's extremely homophobic. Religion doesn't always = bigotry.

Yes. I'm a Christian. One of my best friends is an atheist. A lot of my friends aren't even religious, some are very religious. 
Of course I could never be friends with someone who tried to push their views on me, just like I would never do that to a friend. You're not being a friend if you're trying to change the other person.

Yes. I am capable of being friend with anyone. On one condition. If we greatly disagree, you keep it to yourself and I will do the same. We don't have to talk about it when there are a minion and one other things to talk about.
