would a uti test where you pee in the cup show if i have a kidney infection also ?

If high amount of protein is present in your urine, most likely you have problem with your kidney. blood test (elevated white blood cells), creatinine and bun are also needed to confirm.

No it wouldn't tell you in a regular test. They would test to see if you have any leukocytes (white blood cells) in your urine which would indicate if you have a general infection. If they were worried about a kidney problem they would do a blood test with a kidney panel.

Yes and no. If Ecoli is in our urine it's a UTI. If they find traces of blood it's usually a kidney infection.

If you suspect you have a kidney infection please go to a doctor and get seen imediately. I left it and currently in hospital very poorly with extreamly enlarged kidney and stines causing a blockage. My kidney is not functioning barely. Im very sick vomiting so much and as for pain its excruiating currently needing morphine. If i hadnt of left it chances are it was a UTI and would have got better with treatment
