Anyone with any legal/tenancy advice???

Question

So I'm 19 and 15 weeks pregnant. I am currently a student at University however will be leaving following completion of this year. 
Before finding out I was pregnant I had arranged a shared house, with 5 other students, too live in next year at uni, I have signed contracts and payed the first months advanced rent. However, obviously, now I'm not going to be at uni I do not want to live in a shared student house, but rather with my OH, of course. 
The landlord has told me he will not accept this as a good enough reason to withdraw from the contract as he "doesn't see it fair" that he should miss out on a years rent because of my pregnancy, even though he'd still be receiving rent off 5 others! 
He's told me my only options are to find a replacement Tennant or to continue to pay for the room I will not be living in. 
I have tried and tried to find a replacement but am having no luck.
This is really stressing me out and getting me down, as you can imagine, as a 19 year old expectant mother I will in no way be able to afford to pay rent for a property I am not living in. 
Bear in mind that the contract hasn't technically started yet, I am not due to to move in until september. 
Do I have any other options or ways out or am I completely stuck?

Does your university offer free legal counsel? I used my free counsel when I had landlord issues in college, it was a big help.

Contact a lawyer. They have half hour free consults usually. Bring the contract and proof of pregnancy.

This is why you pay up front. That way the f you pull out, the landlord still gets to keep something. I would just not pay regardless of if you find someone else. He will keep your deposit, but that's what it's for. There's no way this would fall back on the other tenants if you are only paying rent for a room. Did you give him your ssn?

Not site about the states but usually if you cancel.....(there should be a Claus in the agreement) for me if i cancel i habe to pay two months rent so they have time to find a replacment renter.... read your agreement see what it says.

Becouse you sighned the contrack you have to  either stay or just keep paying untill u find a replacement. Even if you dont stay there you still are obligated to pay. Becouse the other 5 girls will have to pay ur portion. If you stop paying they can take you to court and make you pay it unless u have a replacement. If you have someone than than they will make you pay only the portion for the time untill the 6th person moved in.

Sweeten the deal. Offer to pay the first month or something!  That should get someone to bite and still save you a ton of money!  It's legally binding. I'm sorry that happened.

Don't stress yourself out too much! I would post ads on Craigslist in your area or if your town or university has Facebook groups, post there too! You should be able to find someone to take over your part of the lease. Good luck!

Yeah you are stuck unless you find a replacement. The contract starts the minute you sign it, not the minute you move in.

If you signed a contract, its legally binding. Just keep looking for a replacement. The landlord sounds like a dick bag.
