maternity hospital gowns ???

Does anyone whose ever bought a hospital maternity gown know what is easier? Buttons in the back, buttons in the front? Buttons for both? Just a silk tie? Ps the buttons are not snaps. I'm just trying to figure out what would be the most logical to buy when the time comes... please if you could give me insight I'd greatly appreciate it .

I have heard you'll want the back to open for the epidural.

I just used the hospital maternity ones it had holes you could slip your boobs out of to breast feed...other than the random boob slip to visitors it was just fine..plus I didn't care I was going to breast feed in front of them most likely anyhow.

I am thinking of getting a regular satin or silk robe gown that opens in the front. That way anything is accessible in the moment but I can still feel like I'm wearing something nice.

My mom made me a birthing outift, it was a skirt and shirt actually. She had snaps down the sleeves for easy nursing access. But we never thought of epidural access. So shes modifying it this time to have snaps down back.

I wore the gown they gave me at hospital, of course it wasn't the prettiest, but it was amazing! It had snaps on the shoulders which made breastfeeding a lot more accessible
