is it real or a coincidence?

My son started really babbling over the last week. It started with the /b/ sound and has moved to the /m/ sound. He's progressed into saying mum mum and I'm wondering if it's possible that he's associating it with me.

At first, I thought it was a coincidence until the last two nights he stood in his crib crying and screaming mum mum until I came in.

Any one else experiencing this??

Side Note: My husband has been away on military for a little bit and he has turned into a complete momma's boy!

My son has started saying mama recently too and sometimes when I walk away from him he starts saying it so I think maybe he might be starting to understand what it means. Whether it's the real thing or just a coincidence I think it's so cute!!

I dunno, but I have a similar experience. My son says mamama when he's unhappy/crying, but apparently just around me because at daycare they've only heard dadada (which my husband decided was a sign of annoyance: Fall over from sitting? Drop the toy you wanted? "Dadadadada." )

I feel it could be real. My daughter only says mamamama when she wants me. If my husband is holding her and she wants me she starts reaching towards me and says it. She'll cry and repeat it until I hold her. Any other time she doesn't say it, I try to get her to but nope. The rest of the time she babbles.

My daughter uses Mom when she's upset and she'll say dad while looking around for him (he works a lot) and today she's started going "hi dad" into her little play phone because I talk to him on my phone a lot.

My son is stringing the consonants with vowels mostly dadada mama nana i dont think at this point he comprehends what he's saying
