I am 24 and have been faced with this decision too.  My fiance and I have 2 daughters and I'm 36 weeks pregnant with our baby boy.  Everyone keeps saying get your tubes tied, get your tubes tied.  However I don't feel that I'm truly ready.  My midwife told me like this.  If you have any doubts then don't do it.  You will regret it.  So I am taking that advice.  I agree by age 30 or so I think I will know for sure if we are done for good having kids or if we want another. So for now I'm getting the 10 year non hormonal iud

Having your tubes tied is painful, invasive and REALLY risky if you ever want them reversed. Get an IUD or the depo shot. I wouldn't advise anyone to tie their tubes if there was a good BC option or a partner who could get a vasectomy instead (mine just did yesterday).
