potential teen mom?

Everyone thinks I'm crazy for wanting to have a child right after highschool, but I'm financially stable, working a good job, and have a great support unit (my family) so they don't understand that I want to become a mother at 18. Is it weird?

I mean, you do you, but my advice woukd be to wait. Enjoy your life a while before it becomes about someone else. Soon as you have a baby you arent living for yourself anymore. It's all about them all the time. Enjoy being your own person for a while

Not at all . I'm pregnant , currently 18 till august , married , husband has a good job , own house & depend on absolutely nobody . As long as you can do it financially and you're willing to give up your 20s to be a great mother there's nothing wrong with it .

Not sure if this is helpful, just something to consider, you (potentially) have a lot of life to live, babies are such blessings but once your a mom, you are a mom, your life is now deticated to bringing up this child, putting aside your creature comforts, even when you've been puking out your guts from a terrible stomach flue, you'll need to go and care for your babe. There are no sick days, it's a 24/7 job that you cant call in sick from. Having children is one of the most sanctifying things, it's not all baby toes and giggles, there are tantrums that last for hours because why? You'll have no clue many times. Maybe it was because you broke their cookie in half.  there be days when you cry yourself to sleep terrified about what new fits happen tomorrow. Children have fits in public that you REALLY CANT do ANYTHING about and parents often receive  nasty comments and looks from people who don't have children therefore don't understand.

Children are a blessing but Are you ready to deticate your life, give up your comforts to the raising and training up of another human?

I'm 32, married , financially and emotionally stable , own my own home , have a great career and I have a Bachelors Degree. This will be my first baby. It's your choice, but I could've never imagined having a child at 18. At 18, I was just starting college and could care less about anything except hanging out and partying with my friends on the weekends . Since then , I have experienced a lot in life and I am thankful for that , because it made me a stronger women and in turn I will be a better mom than I could have been back then. Travel , explore and live life for a little while . If you wait , you will look back and see exactly what I mean .

It's hard but if you have a good support system it's your choice. I had my son 4 days after my 18th birthday he was my best gift ever.

I was trying to concieve when I was 19 about to turn 20 in a couple months. Now I'm 23 weeks

Honestly it depends on the girl.
I was pregnant with my daughter at 16, had her at 17. I didn't have a job. I didn't have a house. I had dropped out of highschool.
My mom and grandmother were the only support I had and needless to say my daughter has NEVER gone without. She's spoiled, she knows she's loved, and she's such a happy baby.
I'm now 20, pregnant with my 2nd, engaged and have my own house. I still have the same fears I had with my daughter, but I know that everything will always work out.

You don't always have to be independent, educated, and make good money to be a successful parent.

You can do it!!! I'm gonna be 18 in June and 8 weeks pregant! I k ow it's not gonna be easy but it will be worth it! If that's what you want defently go for it! Don't let anyone tell you that you can't do it! Young mums are the best!

LIVE LIFE!! I'm 23 and pregnant and I got to go to college and have drunk nights, try some pot, be completely selfish, go on vacation to the beach 3 times, and just have a good time having few responsibilities! I was married at 19 so I still had bills to pay and college and work to go to but my husband and I were pretty carefree these last 4 years and it was wonderful! I can't imagine missing out on everything that I did. I'm not saying that you should not have a kid so you can get drunk and high but you can't really be careless like that when you are having a kid. Just being able to hang out with friends on a late Friday night won't be able to happen in the spur of the moment kind of thing. Think about what you'd miss!
