Question for Moms expecting twins or multiples?

I am fascinated by the idea of twins and was just curious: for those expecting multiples, what kind of family history do you have with multiples, if any? Did you do anything while ttc that might have led you to have multiples? For example, fertility treatments or vitamins?

I do know that in most cases having twins is completely random and it would be hard to prove the cause.. I have just felt like I have heard about it more frequently then I remember hearing about it as a kid, so I am wondering if there is anything interesting to share?

I am pregnant with identical twins. Identical twins are said to be 100% by chance and every couple has an equal chance of conceiving them as a woman drops one egg,  it's fertilized and AFTER it's fertilized, the egg splits creating 2 babies,  BUT once you concieve them once, your chance goes up to have them again. Fraternal twins on the other hand, are genetic because a woman drops two eggs and they both fertilized.

They were also doing a study on identical twins and how sperm could possibly be the reason an egg splits, certain enzyme in certain men's sperm. Also that woman with weak eggs, they split because they're weak.

Andddd... twins are happening more now because many women go through fertility treatments compared to in the past.

I, myself conceived our identical twins 100% natural. My husband and I also have absolutely NO twins in our family. Not identical or fraternal.

I'm having fraternal twins and have no family history of them and it was our first month of trying, so no fertility treatments or anything. I was taking prenatal vitamins but I don't think that plays a role in it.

Yes, the increase of twins being born is huge and I want to say it is mostly due to the age women are concieving now. Women over the age of 35 have a higher chance of having twins or multiples! It's quite interesting and I'm all for it partly due to the fact I have an awesome twin brother. 
The other increase factor is due to infertility treatments.
Twins do run in my family and I've heard of the case of twins having twins so that'd be pretty cool if I ended up being pregant with twins. I won't know until my first prenatal appt so we'll see 😙

It's becoming much more common with fertility treatments. I was on Femara and also have them 3 gens back
