herpes!?

I had a baby 8 wks ago. Since she was born I've had discharge w a slight odor. It went away about 6 wks & then came back w some itching. I didn't think it was a yeast infection since i haven't been on antibiotics & it only itches slightly when I'm in the shower. Went to the ob & saw her nurse. She gave me a blood test for herpes!!! I have only been w my husband & haven't had sex post partum yet. She said it could take 20 years to have an outbreak. She said I had 3 spots but they didn't look like herpes, but she didn't want me going without meds if it was. (This was fri) I didn't even know there were any bumps. I checked when I got home & saw a couple ingrown hairs where I had shaved. They were gone the next day. I read that 1 in 6 have genital herpes. Anyone who has it, does it go away in a day?? I didn't take the script to the pharmacy, so I'm not on meds for it. I just know I would die if I have it & my husband would think I cheated on him. This is crazy.
