sleeping in crib?

When did you let your baby start sleeping in their own room in their crib at night? My baby is only 5 weeks old and my husband wants her to start but I'm not comfortable with that.

I'm going to start once my daughter starts sleeping through the night. It's just too easy to breastfeed with her beside me instead of getting her from her crib 2-3 times a night and breastfeeding lol.

I say when you feel ready, or baby feels ready. I co-sleep (baby bed next to mine) with my kids and I wait until they are ready to leave the room. And yes they do leave on their own 😢

My son has slept in his room alone since the first day we got home with him. It's just whenever you feel comfortable. I always had the monitor close to him so I can hear if he moved.

I waited until he was six months but eish I had waited until 9 months.

6 months with my first, this one may stay in our room a little longer depending on how well she sleeps thru the night at tht point cuz she will be sharing a room with her sister and I dnt want to have her waking up my other one through the night, So for me once she starts getting a consistent nights sleep where shes only waking up like once or twice.

5 months throughout the night, we stayed nap time in the crib around 3 months

My daughter didn't sleep in her crib til she was one.  We tried a couple times before that but she didn't sleep well.  Then one night, she wasn't sleeping great in our room anymore so we tried the crib and she fell sound asleep and never went back.  The transition was totally painless.

I put her in the crib in her own room at 4 months. I wasn't comfortable with it before then. The problem was that she was a noisey sleeper and my husband was a lite sleeper that needed to be up early for work so I moved into the guest bedroom with her from month 1 - 4. When it was time for her own crib I bought this little gadget called the snuza that attaches to the baby's diaper and detects their breathing. That was a must for me to feel remotely comfortable. Not everyone has a spare room to move into but if you do maybe that'd be an option for either you or your SO. That or the couch. Bottom line - you need to feel comfortable and hopefully you and your SO can compromise somehow. Also, some people out their newborns in their own room right away some co-sleep until they're toddlers. It's not a one size fits all thing :)
