What position are/did you give birth?

I would like to do a side birth of possible. Its more natural the, in your back. How and when do I need to talk about this with my doctor?

On your back is actually not natural . No gravity and u can hurt ur coxis. It's just the most convenient for the doctor. Think about the women in 3rd countries. Most of them squat or stand up holding up to something 😊 u can talk to ur doctor while u in labor and if there is no complications they will allow u to do it the way that is more comfortable for u.

You can talk to your dr whenever you are ready, I gave my midwife my birth plan at about 34 weeks. But keep in mind, you will prefer whatever position feels best at the time, especially if you do not have an epidural. I did begin pushing on my side because it was comfortable but I switched to a squat bar.

I got an epidural after I got pitocin... I loved the relief it sort of gave me (only half of my body went numb) but pushing on my back was horrible!!!! I couldn't breathe and the baby kept going back in. Every inch id push out another half inch he'd go back... I'm going for a home birth this time around. Just because fuck being on my back.

I figured if I don't take the medications I will have more of an option then on my back since I will feel everything. I was reading about the different ways which ones "help" prevent tearing... Well, maybe I will bring it up in 2 weeks when I'm at 32 weeks. I'm nervous to bring it up... Lol
