Working or Staying at Home with 2 kids?

Question

I have been working and in school, but took a year off when my son was born. Now I am working but it has been tough missing time with my son. I am 22 weeks pregnant and was planning to quit work and stay home for a year or more to be with my kids. My boss is now offering me loan repayment and help with liscensure, but this requires a 7 year contract and at least a year more of commuting 100 miles a day. Money wise I know this is a good opportunity, but I love my kids. Any advice or experience with work versus staying home would be great!

I would stay home. I always think, plan for the future but live for today. Meaning, make sure my family is accommodated for health and money wise Etc but if I only have one more day left on earth, I want to spend it the best way I can...and that ended up being with my kid.

Wow! That's a tough one! Honestly, if it was me and I was financially stable enough without the work, I would probably stay home and just have faith that something better or equal would come along down the road. I love my babies and it would be super hard to be apart that much. Not saying that you don't love your babies! You just have to do what you have to do sometimes.

I stayed home with my son when he turned 3, I worked for a year prior to that, and I only stayed home cuz I got hurt at work and couldn't use my right arm at all. When I got use of my arm back I started a daycare and I've been doing that now since may 2013, I recently started a weekend job at the gas station near my house just to have a bit extra money and be able to get maternity benefits in October lol.

I'd say stay at home but I did a two year loan repayment at my work and it was worth the money! I got pregnant with my twins at the tail end and had to makeup 3 months. But for financial reasons I'm the breadwinner and have to work. If he could he would cuz I really want to be home! We're trying for our third and I might force the stay at home when this little one comes. It's a hard decision u have and good luck!
