Who knew trying to quit would be so hard!

Question

So I've been ttc and my fiancé and I have been heavy smokers for about 10 years. Well one day he woke up and decided he doesn't want to smoke anymore mainly for a different job and hasn't turned back yet. It has been a year now and he's been trying to get me to quit. I don't want to but I've been trying mainly because we're ttc and he's been really hard on me. Any suggestions that can me quit? I love weed but I get really uncomfortable talking about quiting because I wish I never had to which makes me even more uncomfortable because I feel like a stone cold pot head! Am I the only one that's going through this? Any other moms stopped smoking while ttc and while pregnant? I have two friends that smoked while they were pregnant their babies seems fine other than rather oddly quiet

My husband and I quit smoking on January 9th this year after 10 plus years of smoking heavily and 2 weeks later I was pregnant after ttc for 16 months. We are so much happier. I used to think marijuana was helping with my anxiety but it made it worse. Weed is the easiest drug to quit because it is just mental and not physically addictive. The first week of detoxing is the hardest but after that your pretty good 😊 I would suggest going cold turkey and distancing yourself from people who use it. good luck 👍

It simply comes down to making that difficult choice and taking it day by day. The first three days are the hardest, but after that it's easy. 
I was in the same exact situation as you two weeks ago. Asked myself which one I wanted more? I want to start a family so bad and would have to quit anyway if I were to get pregnant, so I ripped off the bandaid and went cold turkey. Mind you, I was a heavy smoker as well and my BF still smokes around me. But I've got strong will. I want a healthy baby more than anything.
It helps to keep yourself distracted and not being around the good shit too. I do treat myself to wine here and there as a reward. 
If you're super dependent on it, what you can also do is taper off the smoking. Smoke less every day until you completely run out. Mark every smoke-free day on a calendar, and as you go you'll be proud and motivated to see your progress.

I hate having to quit, too. The idea gives me so much anxiety when the time comes near. Then I'm miserable because it's hard to eat as it is while pregnant, but it helped, so since I had to quit, I only gained 13lbs my entire pregnancy.
