confused

So my boyfriend took my son over to his friends house to hangout while I was working and we both picked him up after I got done with work. I didn't see any of his friends parents around but just my son and his friend at the door. My son said that his mom was outside in the back and his dad was in his room. Anyways yesterday my boyfriend mentioned that he saw that friend of my son's and I asked him where and he said that he was installing cable at a house across the street and saw his friend jumping on the trampoline with some young looking guy. I explained to him that that is his dad and then he asked me oh well is his mom and dad divorced and i said no. Then I asked why he would ask that question like why does it matter. He said I was just trying to make conversation and never see his mom. Although he has only been to their house once. I don't know I am pregnant and emotional so I was hurt and could not figure out why it mattered to him if they were divorced or not. I don't know am I overreacting or does that seem like a weird question to ask?
