when to remove body piercings during pregnancy

Need some advice. I have two belly rings, nipples and a piercing down below and was wondering when is the best time to remove my nipple rings. I am 9 weeks today. Just curious to see if anyone else has piercings other than the belly.

I have my belly peirced and I removed mine I think at about 21 weeks? I only removed it because the skin between where the metal lies between the inside and outside of my belly was starting to get slightly transparent, if that makes sense. So I decided to just take it out. I occasionally pop my ring back in though to keep it from closing up ^.^ As long as it's not bothering you, you should be fine. Nipples, I wouldn't personally know but as long as there not adding to their sensitivity or irritating them I think you'll be fine to keep them in as long as you'd like! :)

I took my nipple rings out at 12 weeks. I know I want to breast feed, and I wanted to give my nipples time to heal. I still haven't removed my hood piercing, and I don't see the need to have to until right before birth.

I had a navel piercing and I only removed it once the plastic maternity ring began to get uncomfortable. I was hoping to be able to keep the piercing through the whole pregnancy but it just started to hurt and I figured it would just be easier to get it reopened up later on 😊 it's all based on your comfort mama!

I had my nipples taken out at around 24weeks. I have my hood pierced too but I kept it in. For both pregnancies. And I delivered both of my kids vaginally! It didn't get in the way or cause pain at all.

It depends on when it becomes uncomfortable for you. I took my belly button piercing around 9 weeks because it was protruding due to my bloat and it was uncomfortable for me. I could have put in a plastic retainer, but chose not to. I'm 16 weeks now and occasionally check to see if my piercing still goes through (and it does). It's totally up to you!
