anyone pregnant with herpes???

I was tested today after a small breakout. My doctor said it looks like herpes, I pray it isn't though. But how do you get through it... I already have a 10 month old and now I am 17 weeks pregnant with my second. I can only think it came from the child's father because my ex I was with a few months before him sent me test results and he was negative for everything....

Most standard STD panels don't test for heroes unfortunately because the test has a high error rate and because herpes is so common. 
I had it for about 18 months before I got pregnant. If you had it before pregnancy it's a pretty small concern. Most doctors put you on valtrex suppressive therapy (taken every day whether you have an outbreak or not) in your last trimester to avoid an outbreak at birth. It's a bit more of a concern if it's found during pregnancy. If you have an outbreak when it's time for baby to come then a c-section is typically how it goes to protect the baby. 
I found that I had a lot more outbreaks early in my pregnancy than before becoming pregnant and I was basically taking meds all the time so I asked to go on suppressive therapy early and have done much better. I pay about $50 a month for my meds which sucks but my insurance is terrible.

I've heard that if the mother had herpes, she has to have a c section no matter what so that the baby doesn't catch it.

I can tell you from my personal experience, my doctor (and from what I've heard, most doctors) will put you on an antiviral 4-6 weeks before you're due to prevent an outbreak. I delivered both my kids vaginally and hope to deliver this one vaginally also. As long as you're not having an outbreak when baby decides to come, you should be able to have a vaginal delivery. If you do have an outbreak at the time, they will do a c-section to deliver. Try to relax. Also, if they didn't put you on it already, they will put you on an antiviral if you are diagnosed with herpes. It sucks but there are much worse things out there. Try not to stress.
