Take it from a girl that would get choke and shoved up against a wall and bang my head etc and him yelling at me don't you understand how much I love you?  The control and jealousy and possessiveness and anger and rage. None of which are love. It was fear of him doing it again. It was fear of what he would do next.  it was fear of him threatening to kill me and my family and friends if I talk to them or told them. it was fear of him wanting to get me pregnant because kids keep you together. It was him beating the crap out of me for 6 months. I was never happier to be cheated on and for him to leave. Abuse in any form is not ok. If they say they will never do it again that's a huge load of crap. They suck you in and make you feel guilty and manipulate you. Don't go there. Get out before it gets worse.

Been in that situation myself and I found that once they've crossed that line they always keep doing it again and again. And it always gets worse.
