help?

So I work for this company where maternity leave is optional for 6 months mom paid, of course the first 3 are paid. My husbandis on disability, which he gets like little money from, and we can't afford for me not to earn income during those 6 months. Does anyone know of any programs or any suggestions as to what I should do? I am very sad about having to go back to work after 3 months.
