Opinions on cry it out!?

I have an 11th month old daughter and she is our 3rd. She is ebf and such a momma suck. I CANNOT get her to sleep in her crib. She still sleeps in her damn swing!!!  She is very petite and isn't near the max weight but I need her out of it asap. She sleeps terribly every night. Up 3 plus times unless I bring her into our room with me and i have to nurse her back to sleep. I just want my bed back and I need my baby to sleep. Everyone I know keeps saying let her cry but I just don't have the heart. I wanna hear your stories. How did the cry it out method work for you?? How long did it take and if it didn't work for you what did?? I'm at a loss and I really need help.

I did CIO on both my boys, and it worked after one night for both!  We started out letting him cry for 5 minutes at first, then adding time each time before we went in.

I did the Ferber method with my daughter at 4 months old when she hit the sleep regression. I started with the first nap of the day and stayed consistent with naps and bedtime. It took 3 days and she was sleeping like a pro! She's 11 months now and has slept 11-12hrs straight ever since and naps 3 hrs a day. Sleep training has been by far the best decision I've made as a first time mom 😊

I have 3 kids also ebf and did some cosleeping, with my oldest we had this issue and I tried everything possible until age 10 months to get him to sleep on his own and nothing worked. I kept reading these horrible things about cry it out and my MIL was so against it, so i felt horribly guilty doing it. We finally had no choice and did it, it took awhile  (about 10 days) and it SUCKED (he's a head strong child, he's 5 now, my other 2 didn't take as long) but with persistence he got it. Once he got it, the entire household was so much happier, including him because he was well rested. I slept trained all 3 of my kids. They're definitely not traumatized, they're very securely attached and loving. My youngest daughter slept in her swing for a long time, and to help her transition I got her a Lulyboo, it's a portable bassinet that gives them that snuggied secure feeling like the swing. I put in in her crib for a couple weeks and then once she was used to the crib I removed it.

I did CIO at around 7 months and NO regrets! Started with naps the day I decided to try and by day 3 she was over it.

So for my son one night was pure living hell and we were just like no no no. We just rocked back to sleep put in crib. Rock back to sleep put in crib. And did that all night once. It was awful. But then the next night he stayed in his crib. Honestly I think we got lucky that it was just one night. But you just can't give in. She's old enough to know that I cry and I get to go to moms bed. My son knew that's all he had to do. 
For us cry it out does not work. He will not stop. He will just cry and cry and cry. So we don't do cry it out.

My son literally woke up like he was at the newborn age, every 2-3 hours, at 8 months. I would have to nurse him or rock him to sleep every time. I couldn't do it anymore. So we moved him into his room and started cry it out. The first night he cri d for 45 minutes straight but then slept 8 hours and after I fed him and put him back down he cried for 20 minutes. The next like it was only 30 minutes and he only woke up at 5 am. It's been a month and he's sleeping amazingly. The key is to stick to it. Thy first few nights my husband took charge because th crying is hard to listen to. In total it took about 7 days for him to get it down. Routine is key, you have to be consistent.

We did a modified version when our daughter was 5/6 months and she's been sleeping 12+ hours a night ever since, and has been a WAY happier baby because of it! We did the ferber method, the 'gentler' approach and while the first couple nights were hard (probably worse on me than her), it worked like a charm.
