Fertility clinic appointment.

So we had our first appointment at the fertility clinic today. But, because my other half has a son aged 14 from a previous relationship and I had a termination 8 years ago from a previous relationship we aren't entitled to IVF on the NHS. We've been ttc for 2 years now and are both mid 30's. We are a bit deflated as we feel like we are being judged on what happened 8 years and 14 years ago. We just can't afford IVF privately.
