has anyone taken their LO on a plane yet??

We recently moved to Miami, Florida from Houston, Texas. We made the 18hr drive since we were moving our whole home. Now my little one and I will be flying home for her first birthday in a month! Unfortunately daddy has to stay here for work, so we'll be flying alone. Any tips on traveling with a 12month old?? Luckily it's only about a 2.5hr flight!

Ok so basic stuff would be getting a cover/bag for your car seat to protect it from damage ( if your going to fly often enough but a decent one you be able to use it for a long time) and check that with your bags. We bought a cheep umbrella stroller for getting through the airport and didn't care to bag it just checked it at the gate. (The stroller and car seat should both be free to check) for the flight be sure to have lots of fun snacks and we loved our "busy book" we got special for the trip. They can be expensive but it was way more interesting for mine then any electronic or toy. So here is a big one of your little one is a walker.... try and get priority boarding (just ask real nice when your checking your bags) and try and get the very first row it has all the extra leg room so your LO can stretch their legs. Just try not to sit in the middle seat. Back something that you can put under your arm for when they sleep or you'll be uncomfortable. And wear some type of cargo pockets Capri because once you are taking off and landing you need to have things but no hands to hold everything! I know it hard to find the perfect time to fly but adjust you schedule so you know they will nap on the plane, ( try and keep them awake during all security and boarding) you can not have them in a carrier or stroller for either. I just flew with my daughter. From Florida to Illinois. She was 10.5 months. Just make sure that you have a bottle or a binkie ready for take off & landing, to protect the ears. We were able to use the stroller up to boarding & they had it for us when we got off of the plane (essential). You're allowed to bring as much formula/milk and food as you need, just make sure you give yourself extra time because TSA will go through all of it. I packed one carry on with all of the stuff I knew I'd have to take out & the other with "keep busy" stuff. Don't bother packing a book or anything for you, you won't use it and it just takes up space. Chances are the baby will sleep most of the flight. She fell asleep every time we took off 😍 hope this helps!
