Will you be induced even if it's not medically necessary?

I was induced the night (7pm) before my due date because my baby was already big & my OB was concerned I may have to have a c-section. 4 hours after induction started, I went into labor. I waited until around 6-7cm to ask for an epidural. Had fluids through my IV for an hour. By the time they started the epidural I was around 7.5cm & by the time it was done, I was around 9cm. Not too long afterwards, I made it to 10cm. This was around 4 hours after labor started. My baby hadn't dropped low enough, so they let me rest for 5 hours since I was already at 10cm & 100% effaced. Finally let me push, but I had to have pitocin to start my contractions again. Pushed for 3 hours & delivered vaginally with no complications and only minor abrasions/ tears.  We now have a healthy almost 2-month old.   So, induction doesn't necessarily mean you risk a c-section.  Sometimes it can help you avoid one. I have a smaller pelvis internally & Our baby girl was 7lbs, 15oz, 21.5 inches & her head was  13.75 inches around. So, for us, induction was the way to go. :)

I was induced on week 39 and not for any real medical problems with the pregnancy. I decided to be induced because I was only 2cm and the doctor gave me the option because of how short my torso is and how big and long my son was at that point. I was in quite a bit of pain because he was pushing on my ribs so hard. The doctor could actually see my sons feet propped up against my ribs lol. My son came out completely healthy and happy and I would be induced again if need be even if I do know how beneficial it is to say in there as long as possible.

I was induced at 37 weeks because of high blood pressure, not preeclampsia. I had a very simple labor, was only 18 at the time. Pushed for 20 minutes and my son was born. I went into the hospital at 9 am, doc gave me something to soften my cervix around 11, dilated to 4cm, they broke my water a few hours later, started pushing at 7 pm and had him at 7:20 pm. Contractions were pretty painful, that was the worst of it all, but once I got an epidural I didn't feel much until I knew I was ready to push him out. I would say my labor was pretty easy compared to other horror stories I've heard.

I was electively induced at 40 weeks, long story short, my mother was in town for a bit (wanted to be there for birth) and husband didn't have a lot of time off, so it was the best time for us, also my sons bday is the day my grandpa passed (years prior), so it had special meaning. It was fine, no complications at all but next time I would not elect to, if I can avoid it. Of course now I'm pregnant with twins so I will be trying to keep them in as long as possible anyway and hoping I won't need a C Section.....but I guess that part is up to the babies ;)

I was given a packet at the doctors office with info on induction and it says labor is way more painful if you're induced. I'm gonna be sticking it out and letting her come at her own time whether it's now or 42 weeks
