Does the patch cause depression?

I'm considering getting on birth control but I'm not decided. I had a Skyla a few years ago and had a lot of issues, including physical pain, bleeding for months straight, and depression. After dealing with all of that for 5 months, I had it removed. I also stopped having sex around then, so I kinda didn't need it anymore anyways. After it was removed, my periods got way more painful.
