Wondering what people's opinions are. My SO and I are in our mid 20's and live with my mother in a 2 story house... two big bedrooms, two smaller ones, 2.5 bath. There is a living and family room, dining room, kitchen... Just to give a better idea of my situation. I don't plan on moving out, and my mom says she wants us here to help take care of everything. But it seems that other people feel that a goal we should have before having kids and getting married is to get a place of our own. Why does this seem so mandatory?
