gender reveal & separate baby shower later?

Question

So I am pregnant with my second love nugget, when baby is born my son will be 5 years old. I am sure this will be my last so I want to do it all! I want to have a gender reveal with close family and friends and then later a baby shower, is that ok? I just want to celebrate our 🌈👶🏼 with everyone. Tell me what you think? 
PS- I am not in it for the presents 🙃just the social aspect.

As long as you're not asking for gifts for the gender reveal go for it!! Let people know it's just a celebration.

We did a separate gender reveal and shower for our first. I don't get why anyone people would have a problem, if they don't like it they don't have to go. The gender reveal was all social and plenty of food & drinks were provided. My husband's side is competitive and likes to gamble so I made a birth date split the pot game for the gender reveal but forgot it that day, but it was meant as completely optional.
