Would you want your children to mix with children from a different religious background?

Go by off the religious school poll-would you want your children to mix with children who are raised with different beliefs?

Answer

Mixing with others of different faiths and learning about other faiths isn't a bad thing. It can help people understand others as well as understand your own faith. The only time I'd have an issue is if someone was rude to my child for their beliefs or they tried to indoctrinate my kid into their faith (it happened to me once when I was young)- but usually those issues come from the parents of the kids not the kids themselves. And you can deal with those issues.

My kids don't go to a religious school so they not only mix with kids do different races, cultures, and religions but they learn about those different cultures and religions at school. I love it

Yaaas, I want my child to be culturally, and religiously educated, and tolerant . People believe different shit than you, respect it. Its interesting and worth knowing. It might be everything youve been searching for. Be open.

My religion is my religion. I want my kids to mix with children of other religious backgrounds! I can't gaurentee that my religion is correct or perfect... For all I know, my child will believe something different from me and that's totally okay. I believe something totally different from each of my parents.

We aren't going to be a religious family, so my future kids are going to mix with different backgrounds and religions by default. I don't really have any way of only letting them interact with other atheists, and even if I did, I wouldn't want them to. There are historical and pop culture references that are about religion that I don't want to go over their heads. I'm going to just tell them that we don't believe in this or that, but some people do, so if your friends talk about it, be nice.

I'm missionary Baptist and went to a Catholic affiliated college. I have great friends who are Lutheran, Catholic and Jewish. I'm so thankful I was able to attend college with people of so many religious backgrounds. I've learned so much, and I want my son to be open to learning about different types of people and religious backgrounds also.
