high blood pressure?

So the nurse checked my blood pressure and it was 142 over something. Then a few minutes later the doctor checked it and it was 118/68. What the heck? Should I be worried about the 142 at all?

It common to have a higher reading the first time. You may have "White Coat Syndrome" which is when someone gets nervous around medical/dental professionals. Or you could have been a bit anxious at the beginning of your appointment in general. It happens to me almost every time I have my blood pressure taken, pregnant or not. It's high the first time and normal the second.
