The night Addi was born was so crazy

Jessie

The night Addi was born was so crazy. If it wasn't for my nana and cousin making me go to the hospital, I probably wouldn't have went. By the time we got there it was 12:30am and I was 4cm dilated. Within two hours, I was at 6cm. All I wanted was a heating pad that I happened to leave at home, so my mom put a towel in the microwave and it caught on fire. I don't think I've laughed so hard in my life 😂 (which made me have more contractions). I opted for a drug free delivery because I didn't want anything to take away from our first moments together. I am so amazed at what my body was capable of doing and handling. At 8:00am my nurse and midwife came in to break my water. Within 15 minutes I went from 6cm-10cm and baby girl was coming so fast the nurse had no time to break down the bed and the doctor showed up when Addi was almost out. Once her head was out the nurse told me to reach down and pull her the rest of the way out, that was one of the best feelings in the world.  I pushed for a total of 6 minutes and before I knew it the pain I felt disappeared and in it's place was this tiny and utterly perfect little girl lying on my chest. I cried, I cried because I had spent the last 9 months taking to you and imagining what you would look like. And then you were here. Just staring at me with your wide bright eyes. You were wrinkly and messy and I have never seen something as beautiful as you are. Thank you Adleigh for choosing me to be your mother, for choosing me to be the one to love you each and everyday. I am so thankful for you and having the privilege of

being your momma. You are so loved baby girl. 💕
