Would you be mad if your mad or upset and your S/O doesn't talk

So my boyfriend gets mad about a lot of things and pretty much everything. For some reason I just don't talk or I try to but say little to none. I don't know what to say when he's mad & he just gets even more mad. Says it makes him not want to be with me and he tries to break up with me because of it.
