Hello Ladies! I have been having some problems finding a bra and I feel like I'm about to lose my mind with this. I can't stand underwire as it digs into my ribs (at least with previous bras it has). I will try on 38D - 42D and I honestly don't know what the hell im doing wrong and why I haven't been able to find a bra. It either fits the cup and is too tight around my ribs or it fits my ribs but the cup is too big.. why?! They're both Ds? I'm so lost.  I've been wearing a sports bra for over a year now. I just want to feel good in my own skin and have a bra that actually fits! So suggestions? Obviously I should get measured at Victoria secret or something but I can't afford a $75 bra from there soo what do I do lol.  I have pretty big boobs lol I've been a D since high school and then I had a baby 6 months ago. Help me outtt pretty please!

DO NOT get measured at VS. There may be some women there who know what they're doing, but the majority don't. 
I'm a 34G and a girl there tried to sell me a damn C cup bra once. Not to mention the fact that VS bras aren't sized properly whatsoever. 
The best thing you can do is go to a specialty store to get measured by someone who actually knows what they're doing. If there's a Nordstrom near you, that's another good option. If neither of those options apply to you, learn how to measure yourself or have someone you trust help you. 
Here's how I do it (it's best to be braless, if you're just measuring the size of the bra you're wearing): 
Get a soft tape measure and from behind your back, wrap it snugly around your ribcage under your breasts (where your bra band sits). Write down your measurement. If it's an odd number, round up to the next even number. This is your band size. For example, my measurement is 34in.
Next, wrap the tape measure around the fullest part of your breasts. Don't do it as snugly as you did under your breasts, but don't do it so loose that the tape measure starts to slip. Make sure the tape measure is straight across your back. Write down that number. That is your bust size. Ex: my number is 41.
Now, subtract your band size from your bust size. The difference between those two numbers corresponds to your cup size. ( 1=A, 2=B, 3=C, 4=D, 5=DD/E, 6=DDD/F, 7=G, etc.). Ex: 41 - 34 = 7. So I'm a 34G.

This is much easier to do if you have someone helping you and making sure the tape measure is placed properly.

Sometimes when you go up in band size you need to go down in cup size. I was wearing a 34DDD, which VS told me was right. But they were sooo uncomfortable! I went to a specialty lingerie store and they put me in a 38D, it's so comfortable, they fit amazing and I no longer hate wearing bras. Either get properly fitted or if a 34D cup fits, but the band is too tight, try a 36C, or a 38C and see if that helps. Cups do change with band size, so keep that in mind.

I've gotten "t-shirt bras without wire" from VS and love it. Very comfortable but still supporting.

Get measured then take that information elsewhere. Although right now is he semi annual sale so all their bras are super cheap. You might be a small band size and a bigger cup or a smaller cup and bigger band size. Bra sizing is truly weird. I usually fit in a 32 dd then i can also fit in a 34d because theyre sister sizes so get measured then when you shop try on that size or its sister size.
