When to go swimming

Question

When is it okay to take baby swimming he will be 3 months this summer and we spend a lot of time on the water.  I think it might be too early but idk what do you think?

Answer

Be careful using sunscreen... most sunscreen  reccoommends not using it until 6 months. Because it can clog babies pores and that means they can't sweat. If they can't sweat they can't lower their body temp. 
They can over heat and pass out. 
I know their is risk with everything, I'm just telling you that so you can be mindful and watchful.

We take my daughter for swim lessons and their only requirement was that she can hold her head up on her own.  She was doing that at 3.5 months so they let her join

3 months is fine:) 
Make sure you use baby sunscreen and keep the little one in shade as much as possible. I have a floaty that has a cover on it so she's not in direct sunlight, and I keep a hat on her as well. 
Also, bathe baby to get all the chlorine and chemicals off once you get home.
