Tampons

I just started my period in January, I've only had it three times and haven't had to worry about going in the pool and stuff. I spent about 2 hours, 5 Tampons and I'm still clueless on how to actually get it in. I'm going to be at a beach camp, and there's a good chance I'll have my period during then. Any tips on how to put one in??? TIA
