Anyone Switched Providers Late?

Danielle
I'm 33 weeks and thinking about switching providers. The problem is, I've already paid our OB contract! Has anyone done this, or had to get a refund on an OB contract? Would any of the money I paid toward our 30% NOT be refunded since I have seen this OB for this much of my pregnancy? My last birth was a home birth and I've decided to try to get in with a midwife in a hospital a little further away Bc my OB doesn't understand me at all. : /

I got a new ob at 32 weeks. But I've also never had a contract with one.

Yes! This is the first time I've had to pay an OB contract. Although, last pregnancy we had a payment plan wth the midwife Bc insurance wouldn't cover a home birth at all. With my first baby we had Medicaid so didn't pay anything.

At this point i feel like you are in control of your birth. If you have a c section then maybe not like me. My ob doesnt seem understanding either.

The only reason I'm laboring in a hospital this time is for epidural at the end Bc pushing is so intense. Otherwise I don't want intervention though, and he's already mentioned induction if we suspect the baby will be big (not even recommended by ACOG!) and said "we don't want that!" When I told him I carry to 41 weeks. Like.. Dude.. Normal pregnancy is up to 42 weeks. He's just obviously very medically inclined ya know? I feel like I'll have a lot of fights on my hands with him when I'm in labor and afterward about every little thing.
