IUD opinions?

I'm currently on the pill. I haven't had any negative side effects that I'm aware of, I've been on the same pill for about 4 years. However lately, this past year, I've been getting forgetful with taking. It's become increasingly common for me to double up on taking (I'm not sexually active so I'm not worried about getting pregnant). Because I've started forgetting my doctor suggested an IUD she said especially since I'll be starting grad school in the fall and working a lot more she's thinks I might start forgetting more and more. The IUD she suggested back in January unfortunately is not covered by my insurance so I stopped thinking about it.
