Fascinating facts about the gunk in your underwear! 🙈
Ever look at your underwear and wonder WTF is that?
Trust us, there is absolutely nothing to be embarrassed about whatever is there, because this literally happens to all of us. Every. Single. Woman.
Vaginal discharge a.k.a cervical mucus
That wet white (or sometimes yellowish) stuff that you find in your underwear on most days is vaginal discharge, a.k.a. cervical mucus a.k.a oh fun, I hope this dries onto the fabric of my brand new underpants again *sigh.* Â But it's totally okay and healthy. Basically, we get different kinds of discharge throughout our whole menstrual cycle to tell us about how fertile we are at that time, and it also plays an important role in keeping everything clean in there. So unless you're noticing weird colors, textures, smells (usually fishy, although if it smelled like bacon that would also be weird?), itching, or burning, you have no need to worry that your discharge isn't normal.
Seriously, vaginas really are amazing. Your lady business can and will let you know if something is up down there.  We’re not saying that little red flags will fall out of your vagina when something’s up, but actually, basically we are. Â
Keep an eye out for...
What to look out for? Irritation, and unusual changes in the smell, amount, color, or consistency of your discharge are all signs that something weird might be going on. Also, keep an eye out for discharge that is bloody (not around your period).  Also, ITCHING.  It should not itch unless you bought the underpants in a Victoria’s Secret filled with mosquitoes so get that (and any of the other symptoms) checked out.
What happens during your cycle
Our discharge actually changes throughout the course of our cycle and can tell us a lot about our current fertility.
After your period, it will likely be pretty light or dry down there. As your cycle goes on, discharge will become more moist and sticky. And when you're most fertile, it will be more wet and clear, like uncooked egg whites. Then after your fertility peaks for the month, it will get sticky, white or dry again. Pretty cool, huh? We think so!
Long live the Vajayjay!
