Can you over feed a breast fed baby?

So we went in for my boys WIC appointment and my 4 month of is weighing 17 pounds 6.8 ounces. He is a big boy and all fed from the tap. He eats just about every two - four hours. He naps three times a day with lots of tummy time and activity. He feeds at least 8-10 times a day and feeds before bed.

Bottle feeding pumped milk, yes. Latching and breastfeeding, no.

No you cannot. They know when they are full and when they are hungry.

Nope!!! Not if you're exclusively breastfeeding from the breast only. If bottle feeding breastmilk yes.

Nope. My now 7 year old was super chunky. Born at 6lbs 10oz but was 8lbs by her four week check up and over 11lbs at her 8 week check up. By the time she was 6 months she was right around 20lbs.

They can over eat in some circumstances. If you have a forceful letdown, they might eat too fast for them to register that they are full. This was the case with my son early on - but he would spit it up because it was too much. As long as your baby is keeping it down, you're fine.

What did he weigh when he was born? I don't think you're iverfeeding him. Sounds like what he's supposed to be doing!
