not pregnancy related... daughter always choking on water!

So my 9 month old daughter drinks AR formula, for those of you who know it is very thick... so she's used to it. When I give her water she always chokes on it because she drinks it alittle too fast. Any advice ? I have gave it to her in a sippy cup and one of her regular bottles and she chokes regardless..
