2 year old with 95 degree temp and sweating

My son has a throat infection and has been running between 100 and 103.9 for a couple of days. Last night he went to bed with a 100 temp. A couple hours later he woke up cryig and damp so i took his temp and it was 96. Within the hour he dropped to 95 and started really sweating. He felt like i dropped him in a pool.
Is it normal to sweat like that with a low temp?
He woke up this morning completely normal.
THIS WAS LAST NIGHT. Not today.
We did take him to the er once when his fever was 102.8. They couldnt figure out why and said to keep doing what i was doing. When his fever was 103.9 i called jis dr immediately who said to bring him into the office immediately,
Where he was diagnosed with a throat infection and i was told again to keep doing what i was doing.
My question was about the 95 temp and the excessive sweating. Why was he sweating so bad when his temp was so low?
Again he woke up this morning perfectly normal with no fevers.
