I loved this film and I only saw it for the first time this past Mother's Day (it was a gift from my hubby, who lovingly endures my Harry Potter obsession and my unending admiration of Alan Rickman) and managed to watch it six times in two days. I thought it was magnificently done aside from one or two nit-picky, former film major critiques. When I got online to share my thoughts I was floored by the nonchalant reception from both film critics and fans. The biggest complaint that I saw was that "not much happened". To which I reply, "well, no, but it was paced in a similar fashion to the original films and it is only the first of five installments , so I don't really expect 'a lot to happen', not to mention, Rowling writes for thinkers and analyzers, not lazy media consumers."
