Any nurses on here that work 12 hour shift on nights?

I work 3 12s on nights. How r u handling night shift? On my days off all I do is sleep cause I'm so exhausted from working nights. I'm thinking about switching to days so I can have a "normal" schedule. But the unit I work on is crazy busy during days and I'm afraid I won't get enough breaks as I do on nights. I also read night shift increases the risk for miscarriages and LBWs. What's your say on this? Someone help me decide. Thanks.

I'm not a nurse (I do work in the medical field) but I've worked nights about 40 or so hours a week now for nearly 3 and half years. I've had one miscarriage very early at 5-6 weeks pregnant. I've also read that working nights increases your chances of miscarrying but I don't know if that was the cause of mine.

I work on the children's unit at my hospital and I actually am finding them easier and less pressure on my back than my days and phlebotomy clinics! Everyone's different that's just me! Xxx

I am a 911 dispatcher. Work majority nights and have had two previous miscarriages. Am currently 33+4 and have mainly worked nights so far this pregnancy. I am the same way on my days off but day shift I am so extremely tired all day from being up and down all night that I'd rather just stay on nights. That and really don't get as many breaks during the day if I need to put my feet up or get up and move around.

Any nurses on here that work 12 hour shift on nights?
