first tattoo soon, advice?

I'm turning eighteen soon and I am so excited to get my first tattoo! I picked out my tattoo to be one that stretches my bikini line between my hipbones. (Kind of like this but smaller)

I was wondering if anyone could tell me how bad the pain will be? (Ie, how many friends I should bring to hold me down) I've never had anything like a tattoo done before and I really want to be prepared for what's coming. Btw this is the tattoo I'm getting

You're planning on getting it where the first picture is placed?? That's a risky move, my stepmoms friend got a koala on her belly and got pregnant, let's just say we call it the grey blob now.

It's going to hurt anywhere you get it. The pain goes away though, what you need to consider is how it will look as your body changes. I love the tattoo. I'd reconsider a different placement but that's just me. :)

I don't have a tattoo on my stomach but my husband does. He has 12 tattoos and he said the ones on his stomach hurt the worst because of the amount of nerves. Said it felt like an incredibly hot blade trying to cut his guts out...and he's a super tough guy! Also, if that's just a generic piece you found online I would suggest against it or have it personalized. This statement is from experience, I have a flash piece I got when I was 18 because I didn't know any better and no one have me any advice not to do that. If having a tattoo that no telling how many other people have is fine with you than do it, but I highly suggest changing it up a little...also I would definitely think long and hard about that placement. There are certain places on the body that do no do well with body changes. The stomach area is one of those. Especially if you plan on having kids, there's a possibility a c-section scar could totally destroy that tattoo!

Okay, first off: are you a Supernatural fan? Because that tattoo implies so and OHMYGOD IHAVE THE ANTI POSSESSION SYMBOL ON MY CHEST!
Second: the placement may hurt quite a bit. Mine that hurt the most were my anti possession, because it was so close to my sternum, and my sunflower- more specifically when he got up to my collarbone area. The less muscle/fat between the surface skin and the bone the more it's gonna hurt. To me, the best comparison I could make was somebody was using a paint scraper on my skin. The rush and the look of it is totally worth it though. :D

Thats gonna look badass. And its not bad it feel similar to a hot razor blade in my opinion then when its done it feels more like a bad sun burn.

It's going to be there forever so the only advice I have is: make sure you really truly love the piece, RESEARCH YOUR ARTIST AND PAY FOR A GOOD ONE ITS WORTH IT, and don't bother about the pain level. The pain is temporary so get it where you want it, all tattoos feel unpleasant.

I got my first tattoo In that same exact place as the picture maybe a little lower and it didn't hurt at all. I was 16 and I'm a pretty small girl I weighed 110 at the time so it's not like I had a lot of fat in that area. I think you'll be fine

I would get it in a place that would hurt less you're first time like the back or on the leg like the thigh.
