Wow! Dealing with idiots at my insurance company

Lauren
Not many people know I'm pregnant, so I'm ranting to you guys through here....  Sorry that this is a bit long.
I have insurance through Horizon BCBS through the ACA since my husband has his own business.  Sent an email last night asking them some questions about what's covered for when I have my baby in Feb.  Just heard back, but they didn't answer my questions since they said I had all my questions answer by someone I chatted with online.  Not totally true...
Since I was impatient (lol), yes, I did chat with someone online this morning, BUT then I ended up having to call since the woman was an idiot.  She got annoyed with me since I didn't understand that 100% coinsurance meant that they pay, not me...
She told me I'm responsible for my entire family deductible if it comes to that, but the woman over the phone said I'm responsible just for my half?!?!???  Which is it?  In the email I sent back to them, I asked them to clarify, so we'll see.
I asked how many ultrasounds are covered.  One said 2 and I'd have to get approval for any additional and one just said that I need to get approval for any amount.  So there was another question that I added to the email back to them.
Hospital stay - I need prior authorization, so I have to tell my obgyn that they have to get that??  If I didn't call, I wouldn't have known!
Baby covered when born? - I didn't even get to this with the online chat since I ended the conversation as quick as I could (she kept ignoring questions I was asking and had to be typing with 1 finger).  The girl on the phone said the baby is covered after 31 days and I have to call within the first 61 days to add them to the policy.  So I repeated what she said, said that's insane and I'll have to find separate coverage for the baby then.  I said I can't believe you don't cover them immediately.  She said wait, we cover them for the first 31 days.  I said you JUST said you didn't and she laughed and said sorry, they do.  🙄🙄🙄🙄
Asked if they have a brochure or any type of information for anything related to maternity and she guided me to a page on the website that goes over my coverage (which we just had a conversation about).  She put me on hold for the 6 or 7th time, didn't know where it was on the website, but said that they did have something.  I said, thanks that's it for now and got off the phone.  I eventually found what she was talking about, but I had to apply for it (what???  Weird) so I guess I'll see if I'm accepted to get information.  I don't understand that...
So nobody was trained in anything that had to do with maternity and I got conflicting answers.  I'm disappointed....  I'm going to stay on top of this so I don't get anymore surprises.  If you're having a baby, make sure you know what you are responsible for now to prepare!  Don't wait until the last min!!
