why do girls worry so much about stretch marks while pregnant?

Like seriously, there are so many women that would give anything to be pregnant and can't.. and all you can worry about is "I hope I don't get stretch marks, I already have a stretch mark! Omg guys I got a stretch mark!" It's so annoying... your body is little creating and a holding tank for a beautiful blessing! Who cares if you have stretch marks!? You can still wear a bikini to the beach, why should something so natural that almost every single person has define who you are and what you can wear?

Sorry for the rant... I've been struggling with infertility for over 4 years now and would literally give anything just to get pregnant and not even think anything about stretch marks..I would focus my energy, time and money on my child instead of creams, ointments etc

If a woman doesn't look "perfect " then they are less of a person....but marks and scars are what make us human

I actually got excited when I got some stretch marks at the very end of my pregnancy! I got them on my butt and boobs in the 2nd trimester but at 37 weeks I got some on my hips and 2 below my belly button and actually smile when I see them! I gained my tiger stripes growing my beautiful little girl. And she's worth every single one of them! 💜 P.S. I completely understand the frustration! I suffered from unexplained infertility for 2 years before I FINALLY had a successful pregnancy after having 3 miscarriages. Just know that it's completely worth the wait! Every single negative test and every tear shed is worth your blessing! Don't give up hope. Your time is coming. 😌💓

Yeah I don't get it either.  I have them from dramatic weight gain and then loss so the few from pregnancy don't bother me.  I guess some people see it like wrinkles and get very self conscious about it.  I say embrace it all!  Plus they eventually fade and you can barely even see them

I think really deep, purple stretch marks are not nice and would hate to have them on my body personally, just being honest. But tbh I hate the thought of pregnancy full stop.

When I was pregnant I was hoping I didn't get stretch marks. When I got them I was like 'oh well' but I can't deny that I didn't want them. I feel so bad for those that suffer with infertility and I really wish those women could have the blessing I had but other women's struggles won't stop pregnant women's feelings about their own bodies. I mean that in the nicest way possible

If women didn't feel so much pressure to be "perfect" and without stretch marks after pregnancies than maybe it wouldn't be an issue. I was young when I had my first child. 125 lbs and gained 24 lbs the entire time. Used bio oil cocoa butter and everything and still got stretch marks. I've seen bigger people never have a stretch mark. It's a bit unfair.

However, when you see all these women and posts about their "perfect post partum body" it's a little irritating at times. They didn't do anything spectacular to prevent stretch marks so why humbly brag about it? Just to show how "hot" you are after baby. But having no idea how much some women suffer with the bodies they are left with. Yes, children are a beautiful blessing. But it doesn't mean that it's fair that some women look as if they've never had a child before. You can't tell a woman she should be thankful for feeling like a stretched rag ball when another mother beside her looks like Heidi Klum two days after birth. I'd be sour about that too.

I agree. Stretch marks come from your skin stretching (in any form) they are natural unless you're the size of a 11 year old girl at 23, they happen when boobs and butts and thighs and yes your stomach grows. Some people get them some don't, it just depends on genetics. And even if you do get them oh well. You're growing an entire human stretch marks are amazing it means you're growing an that means your child is growing.
