Postpartum girdle?

Question

After pregnancy did you try a postpartum girdle/belly wrap? If yes, did you feel the girdle was beneficial to you? If yes, why? If no, why? Thanks in advance for the input ladies 😘 I bought a cheap girdle from Wal-Mart for after I give birth, wondering if I wasted my money or not 😅

I know it sounds really wonderful. But I'm afraid they don't work wonders. They work for people who has had c-sections by re-distributing the pressure! You can train in your waist, but you will need a training corset. And it takes time.

For post partum I believe your best option is to keep a healthy diet. Enough to recover your body and feed your baby, (don't believe you can eat what you want if you breast feed), but do not over eat so you put on more fat in the process. Then the first 6 weeks get your circulation going again. The next 6 weeks make sure to re-activate your abdominal muscles, and make sure they have not split. After 12 weeks keep working core and abdominal muscles to obtain a "corset effect" if you were fit beforehand.

I have used no binding. But the above. Baby was 9 pound, I was a size 8-10 and not very tall. By two months (she's 10 weeks today), I had my normal stomach back. But after only a few weeks I by no means looked pregnant! Just a little chubby as I was very stretched out from BIG baby!

I didn't with my first and it took me a loong time to get back to where I was comfortable in my skin. Pregnant with #2 and I ordered the mamaway belt which is pricey [99$] but all the reviews were super good on it.. Hoping I didn't waste my money.. Time will tell.

I had my flat stomach back after delivering a 9lbs14oz baby via csection withing 5 months. Plus it helped me heal faster

I wore my abdominal binder from the hospital for 2-3 months!! I wanted everything to get squished back together. I still have a tiny pudge, but I think that's normal. I think it helped.

The hospital gave me one to take home. TBH it only really helped with making me more comfortable and giving me support right when I was home recovering from the c section. It helped especially when I was walking, or if I had to cough or laugh.

This is my first so I'm not sure how it affected me bouncing back but one month PP and my belly is nearly back to normal.

I wore a belly bandit and it definitely helped shrink my belly right after birth but I found it uncomfortable so I stopped wearing it after a few weeks. I'm sure if I wore it more, I would have seen an even bigger difference.
