Cry it Out
Anyone going for it?
This is my second baby. I never did any kind of crying with my first and her sleeping and self soothing journey has been long and hard.
My partner wants this new baby out of our bed and I get it. I feel like we will all sleep better in the end, but this stage is so hard! Sometimes she cries for 5-15 mins, sometimes 30-40 mins. Of course we go in and pat her and reassure her in increments.
The hardest thing for me, is not only dealing with that initial bedtime cry, but the inevitable middle of the night wake up. I breastfeed her and put her back to her crib. I often cannot endure the crying this second time if it goes past 10mins or so and will give in and bring her to her to bed and nurse her till I can put her in her bassinet in our room.
I'm wondering if it would be easier to break the sleep association if we just did pumped milk at night.
Anyone have any ideas or experiences to share? I would appreciate it.
