Neither honestly. I'm not sure where you are from but I travel for a living and some of the best gyms I have gone to aren't chain gyms. But I also like old school gyms and they must have free weights and a bench. Besides a couple like snap fitness and The Firehouse. Try to see if there is a local gym around you. I also find that the local gyms that aren't super popular aren't as busy so you don't feel like everyone is watching you work out

Don't go to planet fitness. Read the reviews, they are a scam. You also cannot cancel the membership, they say you can but they will charge you. After about a month or two they will charge you an "annual fee" also a "maintenance fee" things they don't tell you. They have charged people for months after having proof that it was cancelled. Honestly I'm surprised they haven't been sued yet. Plus the one I live by, after 10 times of going in one month, you have to pay each time. Unless you go to another facility.

Pros of Inshape: 2 hours of child care per day for an extra $12 a month; no contract; they offer more classes than PF does; and it's probably kept more clean than PF.

Cons: More expensive.

Pros of Planet Fitness: it's closer to me; it's cheaper; massage chairs; and they offer a tanning bed

Cons of planet fitness: no child care; plus a 12 month contract.

I think I'm going with InShape!
