So the theory I heard was that the moon landing DID happen in 1969, but the cameras they sent up couldn't handle the fine dust on the moon, so the footage is fake, which I'd buy. The cold war was weird and that would have been a big embarrassment (even though the Russians quietly shot a bunch of people into space without knowing how to get them down).
